Alone in a Bar

Willie’s is a bar on 9th Street.She’s there, toiled in today’s shortcomings
She finds, to her side

Her son.

Wired and one.

She’s finding the last drink harder than the first
Soiled in her under garments,

A sign of too much,

She writes a rhyme

A hard time
He turns to her, speaks innocent truths

Asks her why he’s befuddled in youth
